When you sell during the current phase, a spread is automatically deducted from your payout to protect holders who stay until resolution. The “Surge” point you see on the graph marks the moment when time pressure really kicks in. Before the Surge begins, the spread stays relatively low for a short period, but once a certain time passes, "high spread" mode activates and the spread starts increasing much faster the closer we get to resolution. This is why selling right after the Surge is still relatively cheap, but waiting longer makes it noticeably more expensive. The spread money stays in the pool and goes to winners at the end and it doesn’t go to the platform.

Yes, if you hold until resolution, the spread has zero impact on you.The spread and the Surge only applies when you sell or redeem early during the Trading Phase. Once the market resolves, winning tokens are paid out directly from the full collateral pool with no spread deducted. You simply get your pro-rata share. However, close to the resolution it just impact the visibility of your "Market Value" here
