I am really disappointed .
This market clearly meets the criteria for settlement, but because I do not meet UMA’s whitelist requirements, I am unable to propose the settlement myself. I also submitted a request in proposal-requests, but it has not led to any result.
The issue is simple: this market is too small to attract the attention of whitelisted users, while the people who actually understand this market are not eligible to initiate settlement.
This makes me seriously question whether a mechanism where only UMA whitelisted users can initiate settlement is sufficient to support Polymarket’s future growth.
1. How are whitelisted users selected? Is the process fair?
2. Is it realistic for only this limited group of users to handle settlement proposals for so many new and emerging markets?
3. Why can’t more users be given the right to initiate settlement proposals? The system could raise the reward and penalty levels instead of simply controlling access through a whitelist.
4. How does UMA prevent whitelisted users from using their privileged position for personal profit?
I understand that prediction markets are still an emerging field and cannot be perfect from the beginning. But I hope the problems we are identifying can draw your attention and lead to improvements, rather than waiting until these issues escalate into a serious disaster before trying to fix them.

The only lesson is that, in the future, I’ll first check what the whitelisted users are buying before deciding whether to buy in myself. Otherwise, even if you are right, whether the market can actually settle is still a problem.
