hello guys this is a message for market makers, do you guys prefer no delay on world cup matches? or 1s delay is better for you (for us its better to have a bit of delay due to risk of latency spikes and courtsiders)

but as danzu says, this change benefits only takers and harms market makers, so how this change would increase liquidity? we dont understand

but we ourselves have turned off in wc market making (1M shares daily maker volume we sell)

and I guess this is not good for taker bots, as no delay is good itself but if they have less liquidity they are going to match lower quantities and less competitive prices

we market make on corners and wc props and since this change we have seen a huge decrease in this props liquidity and a sustancial increase in the bid/ask spread (only during the live event) since this change

before the match start is very useful to have no delay, is okay, high liquidity even with no delay (no adverse risk, no latency dependent no info)

but with live match this should have at least the basic 250ms delay, 0s delay is crazy for us

we also market making on cricket and esports with no delay and its ultra confortable for us, algorithm just works fine. MLB totals / RFIN / spreads with no delay is again, a f**king mess

we can market make with higher spreads, but thats awful user experience and for taker bots there is no sense paying that extra spread just in exchange of 1 second

Completely agree. Moreover, it's what distinguish them from Kalshi in terms of market making. Kalshi has no delay, higher rebates cuz of higher fees, and better infra. So why would a maker stay on PM if they remove delays?

Also, Mustafa's analysis is quite biased I think, as he compares liquidity during NBA conference playoffs and liquidity during NBA finals, which of course is gonna see more volume

Like I dont think from a random user PoV it's harmful to have a delay, having a website that does not load 50 GBs of data per second and makes every computer crash is much better
