we have had things in the past that makes me optimistic on it, ex. Consolidated Edison (NY power utility) buying electricity from Aquila with weather clauses built in - ex. cooler August means less air conditioning running and ConEd sells less, so essentially dicount paid back for sales weather took away

yeah unfortunately not much liquity, so agree there, considering there's like 6-7 hurricane contracts, a handful of tornado. I think it may naturally flow once these markets are developed a bit more, considering none for things like fires, Santa Ana winds, etc...

Do you think we start seeing prediction markets being used to hedge against insurance policies (ex. fire/hurricane) more in the future? I know at the moment like 98% or so of climate volume is strictly daily weather but a buddy and I are operating on the thesis that these start popping up more to replace some traditional financial instruments for weather/climate risk.

I might be a little late to this but a buddy and I built a free scanner that aggregates K + P and allows you to set alerts/configure markets/trigger for price thresholds on specific markets and events. More than happy to share if sounds like something that would help!
