I think its because what they collect in fees on any trade is unknown, and you just receive a pro rata portion of the final pot instead of a fixed amount per trade.

My humble opinion, if you need to boost the poly revenue, get rid of the liquidity rewards, and keep the actual transaction costs lower.

We went to quarter ticks, but at ~0.50 you added half a cent in taker fees, the net of that is less price discovery. Also with the added fees, you don't get any additional routing from smart routers to your exchange, even if you are 1 or 2 ticks better than others.

The tick change reduces makers profitability, and then the fee change reduces taker profitability. You guys reduced the maker percentage but didn't mention that, so everyone is clear, makers receive the same rebate while takers pay more. IDK, just seems like if you are in a volume war, this is a bad move.
