i almost never use my UI to manually trade except for testing purposes. 99% of it is performance displays that are customizable to sort various monitors and strategies for easy review or live trade monitoring (when I feel like doing that). I have custom settings for all of my strategies and monitors and the UI lets me tweak those without having to interact with the codebase or PG database tables directly. it would be a nightmare to stay on top of all of my various strats without a custom UI

Frankly that's the fun part

It is so ridiculously easy to build a UI with an LLM I don't understand why anyone even remotely serious about this stuff wouldn't do it...

Guess it depends on if what you're looking at is last traded price or best bid/ask. If someone wanted to throw a 10c resting order on every far OTM strike on open knowing there was little chance any would fill it wouldn't be hard to do

Maybe someone else has a bug in their code and you get a stray fill here or there. Not that uncommon in the crypto markets

Sounds like some new actor placing spam orders. Not like they're going to fill so as long as you can spare the tokens why not

anyone noticing an uptick in account/subaccount balance reports errors today? i'm seeing an uptick today in instances of settlement funds being reported deposited into the account but still showing the positions open. it usually fixes itself within a couple seconds and reports the zeroed out positions but it's enough to throw my accounting tables for a loop

My head is thinking about a stop/limit type thing but I don't know how that could work in this scenario or with this api specifically

Thought about doing a probatory trade to start but I don't think I can afford the delay on a full position fill

Random execution question, wonder if anyone has any ideas
I have a strat that scopes high implied probability contracts close to expiration and sweeps them. It works well but I'd like to put a floor on the price I'm willing to take to account for anomalous market conditions where, say, my monitor might see a 90c price but by the time the round trip happens it's closer to 50c within ms

Working RFQS sounds like a real pain. Is there even any alpha there anymore?

So is it confirmed these rfq 400's were part of a dragnet ban on spammers?

If you're running a legit operation I would suggest incorporating and getting an institutional account so you have a dedicated support point if contact

If I had to guess there was some automated traffic algo introduced that caught some legit MMs up in a dragnet for spambots

So they asked us to switch over to bid ask semantics for order placement but then only had yes no semantics in orders

I remember now. They added book_side. Outcome_side was the default but that way there was no record in orders of your bid/ask setting on placement

Yeah it's still useful but if it never existed I don't think I'd be clamoring for it right now

It's funny I feel like a conversation I had with James led to the whole outcome_side/book_side thing and for the life of me I don't remember why I requested it. I've gotten so used to the bid/ask semantics now

I don't deal with RFQs so I don't know all the mechanics. I know there are spamming concerns. I'm not sure how that could manifest on the response side but I'm sure it's possible. And given the volume it might even be something unintended in someone's code that Kalshi flags as malignant

Especially if they view it as bot spamming. I'm not accusing you of that but if that were the kind of thing they were dealing with

If it was a crackdown on some sort of behavior I wouldn't be shocked for them to simply sweep it under the rug

Rightfully or not it seems isolated to specific users. The entire RFQ system has not been down for a week

I'm assuming your signing the posts correctly. Are you able to get subaccount balances, etc?

As in you're trying to deposit external funds directly into a specific subaccount? Because all external funds go in and out of 0. Transfers between subaccounts are pretty straightforward so it is something on your end if you can't move available funds between them

I haven't really started playing with it yet. I suppose it's easy enough to tie close orders to the underlying price feed and replicate the functionality. Just curious how particularly the SL functions were working in the UI

It was part of the fixed point migration a few months back. They were returning parallel values in different formats to make the transition easier. Still some artifacts remaining
