but if i have 20 orders it would have to take longer for me to submit each of them with their own http call than to batch them and send them with one

granted i don't know exactly how batched orders are unpacked on the server side, but i am a little confused how it could possibly be more efficient to send individual HTTP calls on the client side. it would seem to necessarily add latency to the process

Speaking of which <@1294044400065839177> any chance we might be able to get determination price in the market ticker feeds along with result side?

The actual market movement is more important and that's consistent across most indeces but if they're giving us a free CFB feed then I'm here for it

I cache the Coinbase feeds and run a 1m avg locally along with my internal metrics. Ive run tests against Kalshi reported floor strikes and UI reported determinations and it's always within a couple thounsdanths of a percent. More than enough margin of error for my strats currently but of COURSE I'd rather be using the official CFB feeds

I've always used Coinbase because the CFB license is insanely expensive. Not sure how they'd even be allowed to pass it on but it would be HUGE if it works

So in that sense if your strat requires resting orders that capital is practically speaking "tied up"

Not in the sense that you can still use the capital (or withdraw it) but don't you have to have the available balance to cover all resting orders?

I understand why given their capitalization requirements but it would make certain strategies awfully expensive as far as tying up funds. But I guess that's what the interest is for

Seems odd that you'd have to tie up your balance in unopened positions

They're supposed to track it and cancel resting orders if your balance drops below the fill levels but I don't know how strict it is

I don't have experience with it personally as I do t tend to have a lot of long term resting orders but it sounds like that's the complication

If the ask is for a single source of available balance less all resting orders that's a legitimate ask but the answer could simply be you have to do it yourself

Of course and there are ways to do that but there needs to be a blunt "This is how much cash you have" report

No you have $100 available for trading, it will just cancel your resting orders. Your actual cash balance has to be reported somewhere

Why would you want your balance to report less your resting orders? I get it might be a bit of a hassle to track the total value of resting orders across different types of markets but your balance is your balance. You can still use it to open positions

This is the way it has always actually been on the backend. Yes/no semantics are a skin for casual app users. It took complications to twist the API into those same semantics so they are simplifying the API to match the actual engine. Once you get your head around the shape of it it's actually much more intuitive

I don't get the hesitancy to switch urls. The v2 migration takes a little work, the URL migration should be as simple as it gets

Thing is 1 contract testing is just as misleading as paper trading. No clue how larger orders would behave

I have a couple strats that back in March were getting a few hundred entries a day. The past 6 weeks some of them barely get 4 or 5. The market catches up
