When you have a limit order to close a position on perps if you market close that position the limit order will not close and therefore when the price target is hit it will open a new position E.g. I had an OIL short - set a limit order to close at 95.12 Market Closed at 95.09 When it hit 95.12 a new position was opened. This may be a pitfall for new perp users would be nice to have limits closed automatically if that position is closed
