I'm guessing the main problem with having too many resting orders is that when your balance changes they (matching engine?) need to check whether any of them need to be cancelled due to insufficient funds.

to be fair, if the issue occurs when load is high, but the exchange is currently halted, then I imagine it's difficult to determine (especially under pressure) whether your fix is going to work when the exchange resumes and load returns

When a market is trading at 1c or 99c, it usually (but not always) means the outcome is known. In that case, I don't think it's necessary to incentivize liquidity because traders will already be incentivized by the opportunity to bond a known outcome.

You should migrate to the new batch order endpoint. https://docs.kalshi.com/api-reference/orders/batch-create-orders-v2 Kalshi increased the rate limit cost today for the old endpoints as a way to force you to migrate off of them
