So, does a limit order always need to be within a 6¢ range of the midprice to earn points? I previously thought 6¢ was just a threshold for the market to qualify for points, and that once qualified, limit orders could be placed further away, just earning fewer points than those closer to the spread. Also, could you clarify this definitively? I haven't found a firm confirmation, but I've heard that to earn points via limit orders, you need to hold a position of at least 100 shares. That isn't correct, is it? Is it sufficient for the limit order itself to be for 100+ shares and holding anything at that moment is not necessary?
