I think there is reason to believe that the establishment dems had this story in their back pocket for a long time and intentionally waited until after he was nominated to drop it and force him to drop out, because then they can just force whatever establishment dem nominee they want in at this point. Nobody likes Janet Mills... If they forced him to drop out months ago when they had this story originally (again me being tinfoil hat wearer), then another progressive dem would have beaten Janet Mills anyways... So Instead of using this bullet when they first had it and not get any damage done with it. They waited to fire it until now to force their own nominee in and basically disenfranchise the state of Maine. So although Platner is a POS, and it never feels good to be agreeing with a rapist... I do agree that to some extent he should have a say in who the next nominee is, cause the people of maine have spoken, and they want someone with his political platform to be on the ballot.
