Hi, I'll try to answer your questions. First of all, I believe you're referring to the market rebates program. If you wish to provide liquidity and not to really trade the market you should try earning LP rewards. You will simply get paid for having your orders in your orderbook regardless of the fill status. Incase you get filled you need to act accordingly. Your reading is basically correct: the Maker Rebates program is not a separate "opt-in" program. There is no registration where you tell Polymarket "I'm providing liquidity, not trading." If you place resting limit orders that add liquidity and those orders are later hit by takers, you automatically become eligible for rebates. The rebates are usually 20-25% of the fees paid by the taker. Second, The rebate program does not protect you from market risk. When your buy order gets filled, you own the position. If you later try to sell it and nobody takes your sell order, you still hold the position. For example: You bought 1,000 YES shares at 50¢ via a resting limit order —> A taker hits your order → you earn maker volume eligible for rebates. —> You immediately place a sell order at 50¢ or 51¢. —> Nobody buys from you. —> Market resolves NO. Your YES shares become worthless and you lose essentially the full amount invested, regardless of the rebate you earned. What does "you only compete with other makers in the same market" mean? The documentation gives: rebate = (your_fee_equivalent / total_fee_equivalent) × rebate_pool Suppose a particular market generated: 1000$ in fees so 20-25% goes to maker assume it as 25% so 250$ Now imagine three makers generated the following fee-equivalent volume: You: 100, Maker B: 300, Maker C: 600. So, total = 1000. Your share is 100 / 1000 = 10% So your rebate is: 10% × $250 = $25.

Why don't I simply get 20–25% of the taker fee from my own fills? You might effectively get 20–25% of the taker fees generated by your own fills until the rebate formula is strictly proportional and there are no special adjustments. The reason the docs say you "compete with other makers in the same market" is that Polymarket does not track a separate rebate bucket for each individual trade. You can get more detailed information here: https://docs.polymarket.com/market-makers/maker-rebates

Is anyone able to confirm the current situation with the Polymarket taker rebate program: 1) The docs that support are sharing today say it went live on May 28 - [The Taker Rebate Program goes live on Thursday, May 28, 2026.] (https://docs.polymarket.com/trading/taker-rebates) 2) The announcement on May 30 said it is now launched in beta, what does that mean? 3) The announcement on May 30 said that wV would be backfilled, is that from the announcement date or what future date? 4) Will there be any clarification issued? I am concerned that my trading activity will be misaligned or the parameters may change unexpectedly, causing financial loss.

Can Polymarket Support please help confirm the current situation with the Polymarket taker rebate program. 1) The docs that Support are sharing today say it went live on May 28 - [The Taker Rebate Program goes live on Thursday, May 28, 2026.] (https://docs.polymarket.com/trading/taker-rebates). Is this correct? 2) The announcement on May 30 said it launched in beta, what does that mean? 3) Are all existing users currently in the beta phase? If not, how do you gain access to the beta? Who is in the beta phase and are they actively trading on the public platform, or on a separate beta platform? 4) The announcement on May 30 said that wV would be backfilled, is that: a) 30 days back from the date listed in the documentation (May 28), or b) 30 days back from the surprise beta announcement date, or c) another, future date? 5) Will successive tier qualification bonuses be awarded upon the initial backfill or just the initial tier achieved as a certain date? Appreciate some professionalism and clarity here, for those of us committing significant time and money.
