He got screwed over by unfair rules and lost a ton of money. I doubt he’ll ever touch Polymarket again after this.

I heard it was in the pipeline to change this because it kills liquidity in tennis and CS with the forfeits

How does this rule kill liquidity? Imo it should clearly resolve to the team that won

Resolving a forfeited match with a clear winner as 50-50 is so insane

In tennis what is really killing liquidity is the tick change thing when the price hits 90+ for just a brief moment, the market then starts quoting in .1 increments but as game progresses it even goes back to 50c in so many matches and there is absolutely no liquidity.

Those who control the rules are bound to profit from them, while most regular users like us will almost always end up losing money.

We could actually adopt the rules used by betting platforms; their systems have been refined over decades and are pretty well-rounded and fair.

Risk is to be expected, yet the unfairness here is blatantly obvious.

Context: Lavked vs Just Players | European Pro League Series 8. Lavked was the heavy favorite. The early odds were ¢70 vs ¢31. Map 1 was Ancient, picked by Just Players. Lavked dominated Map 1, and the score was around 11–7 something. The odds were around ¢83 vs ¢19, heavily favoring Lavked. But due to some technical issues, Lavked chose to forfeit. They were only 2 rounds away from taking Map 1. The odds on PolyMarket changed from ¢83 vs ¢19 to ¢3 vs ¢99 in the blink of an eye. Many people who bought Lavked at ¢70+ didn’t get a chance to cash out with even a minimal loss because the market maker got the information before them. Why should you care? : Imagine if this happened in an S-tier event. Suppose Vitality vs GamerLegion. Vitality won Map 1, and the odds were ¢95 vs ¢6. Suddenly, one of Vitality's players became seriously ill (heart attack or something) or received bad news about a family member, and they chose to forfeit. Then GamerLegion would be declared the winner. The odds would change from ¢95 vs ¢6 to ¢1 vs ¢100 in milliseconds, and you might not get a chance to cash out if you bought Vitality shares. I know this is very unlikely, but it's not impossible. This might happen once in a decade, and when it does, many people could lose hundreds of thousands or even millions. Suggested solution : Every forfeited match should resolve 50-50, whether the match has started or not. My position on the Lavked vs Just Players match : I placed a buy order on Lavked with a timer. I wasn’t watching the stream because I was doing other things. I only checked the score on HLTV from time to time. I had no idea about the technical issues. Luckily, my timer completed before the disaster. My money was saved, but many other people's wasn't. <@584169336596594699> <@238266984297529345> I highly recommend you to reconsider the forfeit rules.
