and the one thing that hurt me the most as a builder was doing anything other than building "I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself." - D.H. Lawrence

it took a lot of time and now there are numerous competitors with similar products and deployments the job isn't finished and the only thing left is to build more stuff

i'm gonna come from the perspective of a builder who has neither raised money from VCs or needed any grants just build stuff. if it's good, people will use it. if it's really good, people will pay to use it. that's it

i'd like to push back on this for just a moment: when the EV of a relationship is no longer positive (it is more trouble than it is worth) you should ***__NOT__*** continue dating as the circumstances are no longer in your favor

The volume is toxic order flow from arbitrage bots. HyperCore has a very liquid perp and spot market where the real price discovery is happening. In reality, uninformed users on the EVM provide inefficient liquidity that gets bled dry by bots using the order book. If it was legitimate activity from real users, I would say you're right, but it's not. HYPE moons or dumps on Core, it becomes a frenzy while bots arb the curve-based EVM pools and bleed them slowly. Gas prices spike up to the very edge of their profitability. Once they can't make a profit, gas stops spiking. It's only fixable with smarter, more efficient liquidity on the EVM, giving these bots less money for free. It's about less garbage volume.

Any improvements to the chain throughput that reduces gas paid will simply subsidize more arbitrage activity and likely provide no long term relief to day to day users: if we make the chain cheaper, the bots will simply make more transactions and congest the chain anyway

Demand for blockspace on the HyperEVM is definitely there, observe average block utilization over any time period. HyperEVM curve-based AMM liquidity also becomes a magnet for arbitrage bots coming from HyperCore which likely makes up the majority of throughput spikes.

No one is blaming anyone, but if you have to blame anyone, blame yourself, because you are the only person in your life with the power to change anything in it Just build things and make less excuses

Hyperliquid is a space for innovation not rebuilding the same things that already exist on other chains. Plenty of builders are building entirely new concepts and products using the unique infrastructure Hyperliquid provides. Maybe it's not happening at the pace you want it to or in the direction you want it to but there are opportunities here that will change your life if you seize them.

because they arent closing your position against a real liquid book, they simply take your money and move on. there is no perp, they dont take risk and walk the book to close you out. there was no counterparty, you just get raped over and over and over

brother you keep forgetting he can open 200 other wallets, split the position amongst them and reach whatever position value he wants if you can easily make more wallets and evade the protection, its not really protection. comparable to thinking a wet paper bag can stop a heat seaking missile

thats the exact problem. there are informed, experienced, dangerous actors that know how to press long with 200x at the exact right moment to cause a dangerous crisis

any venue offering 200-500x leverage is a bucket shop, there is no book, there is no perp no one in their right minds takes $5 of margin against a $1000 position they cant close

it's not about either of those two things, it's about surface area for manipulation. perps are derivatives, and if the thing it derives from is weak, it causes the perp itself to become weak structurally many such cases have already happened, such as jelly jelly incident, and the proper way forward is to use a methodology for delisting, to protect capital, but above all, solvency of the platform

Would love to see permissionless oracle deployment on the L1. The idea is that any developer can deploy an oracle on HyperCore, get a linked system contract automatically, and have EVM contracts query its state natively. Updates would be fast since they settle at the L1 layer. Essentially the same oracle infrastructure Hyperliquid uses internally, but open and permissionless. Unlocks a huge surface area for protocols that need reliable, low-latency price feeds or any other off-chain data without relying on third-party oracle networks or push updates to slow down the EVM. Also might work well with the new prediction markets being released which could potentially settle based on these permissionless oracles.

i don't think that's necessarily true. hypercore can exist without the evm, and the evm without hypercore, but the interoperability layer built in between them creates unique opportunities for developing primitives and products that havent existed anywhere else
