Hi. I am not sure if this is the correct channel for this. About the MicroStrategy bitcoin market issue, I would like to suggest, as an idea, that there should be a standard bare minimum of base text in the rules regarding when these markets close. I myself bought NO when I saw the controversy boiling, because I knew from previous experience that Additional Context and UMA would likely side with NO. However, these types of vague rules seem to encourage newcomers to buy hard into a market. While we can blame them for not investigating how it works, having new money transferred to veteran accounts can discourage future newcomers from joining, which can be negative for the market as a whole. It would be positive to at least specify that information that comes after the market ends will not be taken into consideration. I know some will still insist on throwing their money at a lost cause, but I do believe at least some of them will be cautious.

this is just an emotional gotcha, the market should be fair and clearly resolve to yes they sold beacuse they did, no matter who is on the flip side of the bet, are we just going to throw the whole platform and resolve markets any way we want based on who holds what?

The biggest sign of cowardice is the complete silence from the Polymarket team on this issue. It has already caused a huge stir on Twitter and in the media. The Polymarket team doesn't realize just how much damage this is doing to their reputation

I really want someone from polymarket to explain how the JAN 1 2027 end date is irreleveant when it is displayed on the market. SO its just displayed to trick chumps into giving away their money? "Oh the market ended May 31st, any confirmation of a sell after then is invalid" then why is the end date JAN 1 2027???

With that said, it sounds like PM resolved it right, but there's absolutely zero reason for them to keep these markets open when new information can't adjust the outcome.

I often find myself defending Polymarket in discussions on social media, but honestly, markets like the MicroStrategy one make me question whether I'm on the right side. Yes, the market may be technically flawless, and traders are ultimately responsible for reading the rules and managing their own risk. But everyone knows when MicroStrategy typically publishes its reports. It was very strange to set the market's expiration before that publication. If the goal was to create a genuine prediction market, then the market should have remained open at least long enough for that report to be released, even allowing for a reasonable delay. Instead, the way it was structured makes it look much more like a rugpull. Traders were baited by the title and then burned by the resolution criteria. I'm not calling for the result to be reconsidered. I simply think situations like this should be avoided in the future.
