<@1361217824776786031> Please bring back the normal 1-cent price increments for football markets. Previously, prices moved in simple steps like 44, 45, 46, etc., which was clear, familiar, and easy to work with. Now the prices move in 0.25 increments, like 44.25, 44.50, 44.75, 45, and so on. In my opinion, this makes football markets much less convenient and much harder to trade. Most people are used to standard 1-cent increments, and I honestly don’t see any real benefit in the new system. Please consider returning football markets to the previous 1-cent tick size.

You can not even place order at those 0.25 spread with UI, What is going on here?

Yeah, exactly. I also don’t understand why this was changed — everything was working great before. <@1361217824776786031> please consider bringing back the normal 1-cent increments for football markets. It was much better for users!!!

Hi, with the 0.25c tick size, is there no more tick_size_change? After the match, selling at 99.75 would lose 0.15, this is not good. <@624575779023355904> <@930737463163494430>

The 0.25c tick size makes the whole system look stupid. I liked being able to sell at 99.9, but now I’m forced to sell at 99.75 and lose 0.15 per share. This sucks.

Please this 0.25c tick size is really not needed, just stop it already and revert to the 1c, it makes the ui look quite clunky

The tick change reduces makers profitability, and then the fee change reduces taker profitability. You guys reduced the maker percentage but didn't mention that, so everyone is clear, makers receive the same rebate while takers pay more. IDK, just seems like if you are in a volume war, this is a bad move. One problem that i think exists is that price discovery can't happen because it is literally so expensive to take, the reduction in tick size was a nice help for that, but then the added taker fees kind of negates that.

We went to quarter ticks, but at ~0.50 you added half a cent in taker fees, the net of that is less price discovery. Also with the added fees, you don't get any additional routing from smart routers to your exchange, even if you are 1 or 2 ticks better than others.

Genuine question for the team: what was the thinking behind switching some markets to a 0.25c tick size with no 0.1c level? Just trying to understand if this is permanent or market-specific.

I think current 1c is fine, but even 0.5 would be fine. 0.25 is too low and just lowers the profits for everyone

what do we think about the market is starting out @ .25 and then at the extremes going to .1 again? That would allow for bonding, and whatever it is they really want with going to .25. ("so that we are able to trade with less" sort of loses some of its credibility when it's in the same sentence with a fee increase of 66.7% <:Bidensmile:1040247925420339251> )

The fee increase is a response to shrinking tick sizes. The argument is that takers now get tighter pricing so they’ll make back their fees by being able to buy for cheaper

Makers are arguably the biggest losers here, because the decreased tick sizes gives them less edge and they’re compensated nowhere else

I really don’t understand why this was changed — the old 1-cent tick size worked perfectly fine and was much easier for users. Kalshi now has 1-cent tick sizes, and if Polymarket keeps moving in this 0.25¢ direction, I honestly think a lot of sports/football traders will start moving there. I’m already thinking of going to Kalshi <@1361217824776786031> <@707597210845446214> <@624575779023355904> please think about this carefully and consider bringing back the normal 1-cent increments for football markets. The previous system was simple, clean, and worked really well.

So this means that the prices will never go down to the .1 cent tick size? Must they be mutually exclusive? if that is the case, hard to imagine this allows you to *trade with less*. It only allows you to trade with less **compared to whole cent tick sizes**. it hurts bonders and MM's, anybody trading at the extremities who used to be getting .1c sizes. Maybe we compromise and keep $0.25 tick size to start the match/market, and then at the extremities still drop to .1?

Same here. I’ve been checking Kalshi since this morning — looking at the order book, finished registration, and already deposited funds there. I honestly don’t want to leave Polymarket, but it feels like Polymarket is not listening to its users and is just doing whatever it wants. The old 1-cent tick size worked well and was much more convenient. Really hope the team reconsiders this.

Theres not a single discussion across this entire discord of anyone asking for 0.25c but somehow they implemented this and are justifying it as somehow it benefits retail. Yeah sure typing in 25.75 and 16.25 each time is so easy. In reality these changes were requested by SIG, Jump and other insiders who feast on retail flow

Once hyperliquid introduces more sports markets and the liquidity get better, i am out of polymarket for life, and there was never going to be an airdrop, from the amount of money they raised and the type of investors they raised money from of course an ipo is always going to be #1 option, promising an airdrop was the only way for them to get crypto natives to use polymarket after losing all that volume to kalshi. Man seriously, i pray polymarket volume falls off a cliff after 0.25c tick size and the stupid fee updates,

There are two simple ways to make the company more profitable: - Improving the site so that the volume increases - Reducing all the useless spending Instead you chose the short-term solution of increasing the fees as much as possible... It's a bad solution, it won't work well in the long run. People will just bet elsewhere, there are hundreds of competitors. Poly has now some of the worst odds and on top of that the site doesn't work. Why would anyone use poly? Your share of the total prediction market volume is decreasing every month. Your company will die soon

Like they expect makers to quote tighter with the same rebates, and takers to take more with fees more than offsetting the potential benefit of new ticks 🤡
